About Me,
my passions and my cats...
My love for UX began in an Intro to Design Thinking class at the University of Utah. For my first assignment, I had to go to a grocery store, pick a product, and observe how customers interacted with it. As someone who’s always been an avid people-watcher, I realized I’d found my calling!
I was born and raised in the country of Georgia, but Utah has been my home for the past decade. I have over 5 years of experience in UX design, starting out as a freelancer and contractor. During that time, I took on client projects to gain experience and support myself. Eventually, I joined a company in the explosives industry, where I’ve spent the last 5 years working on a variety of technical projects.
Outside of work I spend a lot of time with my two teenage kitties, who we adopted last Summer. Sinchi, the calico is the wild child – always getting in some trouble, while her sister, Lucy, mostly keeps the watch and preserves her energy for 3 AM zoomies.
Community is very important to me, and I regularly attend local UX events. I also volunteer as a chapter lead for the Ladies That UX – Salt Lake City, where I help host UX events to connect and empower other women in the field.
